Dr Willem Volschenk
Specialist Pain Medicine Physician MBChB, FCA (SA) FANZCA, FFPMANZCADr Volschenk completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, followed by internship training across several major teaching hospitals.
In 1999, Dr Volschenk was awarded Fellowship of the College of Anaesthetists of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (FCA(SA)). After relocating to Australia, Dr Volschenk served as a Staff Specialist at John Hunter Hospital from 2004 to 2007, and in 2005 was admitted as a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
With a strong commitment to improving outcomes for patients living with persistent pain, Dr Volschenk pursued further subspecialty training and, in 2016, became a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FFPMANZCA).
Dr Volschenk has a particular interest in comprehensive pain management and is dedicated to supporting patients through evidence-based, multidisciplinary
approaches. This commitment is further reflected in involvement as an Investigator with Genesis Research Services, contributing to clinical trials focused on advancing pain treatment.
