International Nurses Day!

Today we celebrate International Nurses Day and say thank you to all the wonderful nurses who work with us at Hunter Pain Specialists.

At Hunter Pain Specialists, we’re lucky to count with n a team of highly specialised nurses who contribute their pain management expertise to provide excellent care for our patients.

The nurses who work at our day surgery are different to the nurses who work at Hunter Pain Specialists.

Our Pain Management Nurses are responsible for your education, managing your care if you proceed to a trial for an implant and for communicating after you have left the day of surgery. They will also make your follow-up appointment.

On the other hand, the nurses at the day surgery look after you for the time you are there.

Hunter Pain Specialists nurses are available for phone advice, medication advice and queries and to liaise with our specialists and your GP to facilitate your care.

Among the many skills and experiences of our nursing staff are acute care settings (hospital care), nursing management, education, emergency care, orthopaedics, research, anaesthetics, palliative care and rehabilitation.

This year’s theme is Nurses: A Voice to Lead - Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health. It focuses focusing on the need to protect, support and invest in the nursing profession to strengthen health systems around the world.

COVID-19 has had a great impact on the nursing workforce across the world. This has made even more apparent the need to invest in nursing, to build a resilient, highly qualified nursing workforce and protect nurses in order to provide the best care to the community.

At HPS we put this into practice because we know that excellence in care can only be achieved by supporting our great nursing team.

Congratulations on your special day and thank you for all you do!
